Student Empowerment Conference
The Center for Belonging and Social Change is excited to be hosting the Third Annual Student Empowerment Conference on February 23, 2025 in the Ohio Union.
Hope. Impact. Community.
These three words that we chose for the theme -- illustrate exactly what we will be talking about through the day.
The conference is about Hope.
There will be opportunities to increase awareness of our strengths and areas of development. Together, we will explore our lived experiences that have shaped our perspectives and impact our interpersonal relationships.
What do we hope for ourselves? What do others hope for themselves? What do we hope for our communities? How do we maintain hope through trying times?
The conference is about Impact.
We all impact the world around us. Each person we meet, every class we attend, every group we are a part of is impacted by how we show up. Join us in discussing ways to get involved in coalition building and exploring opportunities to demonstrate our collective commitment to community engagement and active citizenship.
What impact do we want to make on our friends and co-workers? On campus? In our communities? What steps can we take as students and after graduation to create positive change?
The conference is about Community.
Feeling connected, supported and appreciated is what we all want for ourselves and others. Cultivating spaces where we feel a sense of belonging can be “inner work” and “outer work.” Learning how to advocate for ourselves and create pathways to connect with people, resources and opportunities that support our well-being and success is so worth it!
What do I need to feel connected in our community? What do I need to do to build positive living, learning and working relationships? How can I lend a hand in others feeling a sense of community?
The conference is about YOU! Join Us!
