Latinx Heritage Month

Every September, the Student Life Center for Belonging and Social Change sponsors a month-long series of events in observance of this annual national event highlighting Latinx contributions to the world.

Here at Ohio State, we have many interesting programs and presentations throughout the month. Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate Latinx rich cultures, ethnicity and pride. We welcome you to participate in being a part of the university's Latinx Heritage Month celebration. For more information, contact Indra Leyva.

Are you hosting an event for Latinx Heritage Month? Let us know! Submit your event, and we'll add it to this calendar!

The Podcast Club

5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Ohio Union, Center for Belonging and Social Change

The Podcast Club meets once a month to discuss a podcast episode chosen by the CBSC team, which will be connected to the history and heritage months we celebrate. In celebration of Latinx Heritage Month, our podcast episode this month is Bad Bunny, Reggaeton, and Resistance from NPR's Code Switch. The episode aired August 30, 2023. Bad Bunny, the genre- and gender norm-defying Puerto Rican rapper, is one of the biggest music stars on the planet. He has also provided a global megaphone for Puerto Rican discontent. This episode looks at how Bad Bunny became the unlikely voice of resistance in Puerto Rico.

Like a book club, we ask that you listen to the episode ahead of time and then join us for a discussion.
